Thank You Coaches!
We had 16 teams this year! Girls Teams Grades 3/4 (1), Grades 5/6 (1), Grades 7-12 Varsity (1). Boys Teams Grades 3/4 (4), Grades 5/6 (4), Grades 7/8 (1), JV (1) and Varsity (2).
Many, many hours have gone into the planning for Our CYO Advisory Team. All of our Coaches deserve the thanks for promoting, recruiting teams, organizing venues, referees, setting schedules, organizing volunteers and concessions, and of course running the games!
Our CYO families have really done a great job of not only getting their kids to games but giving of their time to help run the clock, keep score and sometimes officiate games.
Our faith-filled Coaches are devoted to bringing young people to Christ through prayer at practices and games, teaching values and scripture, and helping our players to see examples of good sportsmanship so they can grow those values in their own young lives.
We are very proud of our St Pius X CYO, all the families and all of the players! Thank you for all your generosity of time and heart!
The Diocese of Rochester Catholic Youth Organization and St Pius X CYO are happy to use the Sports Medicine for the Soul curriculum, which the Diocese of Rochester has endorsed for both gym classes and CYO programs. Each week teams will focus on a scripture and a character value, for example, having a strong character, positive attitude, respect, confidence, integrity, mental strength, good sportsmanship, healthy choices, and more. Coaches receive the entire curriculum at the beginning of the season, additionally, every week Coaches receive a short text message with the scripture verse for that week that connects to the value they will be sharing with their team and an email with a 1-page description of how that value figures into being a strong teammate and a strong person of faith.
We’re happy to offer this and several more resources to our teams!

St. Pius X is committed to offering CYO sports opportunities to children regardless of financial status. Finances should not prevent a child from participating. If there is a financial hardship, please contact Barb Legere at Barb.Legere@dor.org to discuss arrangements.
